PRODUCT OVERVIEW
The TOMAR 824 Series is a medium-profile, multi-flash xenon strobe beacon designed for demanding industrial environments. Customers can easily switch between double-flash and quad-flash operation, making it adaptable to a wide range of signaling needs.
Built for reliability, the 824 Series features universal mounting, a full-size 360° Lexan® lens, a solid-state regulated power supply, and a heavy-duty xenon strobe lamp. This ensures maximum light output and long service life—even in harsh conditions.
Reliable, High-Output Xenon Strobe Light for Industrial Signaling
Each beacon is built on a fully potted Lexan® multi-purpose mounting base, making it vibration- and water-resistant. A plug-in xenon strobe lamp and optional photocell allow for easy maintenance and automatic nighttime dimming, reducing intensity when full brightness is not required.

Architect and Engineer Specifications
The visual signaling beacon shall be Tomar model 824 or approved equal. The light source shall be a plug-in field replaceable xenon strobe lamp. The beacon shall have a field selectable double or quad flash rate of 68 to 72 double flashes per minute, or 58 to 62 quad flashes per minute. The warning beacon shall have a Lexan® lens and universal mount base. The DC voltage units are to have polarity protection, and must have built-in RFI filters to protect against radio interference and spike voltages. All beacons must have fully potted power supply and base. The AC units shall be designed to withstand multiple line transient spikes of 6000V without damage. Light intensity is to be 950 effective candelas in double-flash mode, and 1300 effective candelas in quad-flash mode. Voltage ranges shall be 12-28VDC, 120 VAC, and 240VAC. Strobe light shall be designed to accept a dome guard and mounting bracket.
NOTE
*ECP (Effective Candlepower) is the intensity that would appear to an observer if the light were burning steadily.
**Peak Candlepower is the maximum light intensity generated by a flashing light during its light pulse.

FAQ's
Will a 120vac light work on 110vac? A 240vac unit on 220vac?
Yes, operating voltage is actually +/- 10% of rated voltage.
Can I use a replacement 8 pin Tomar strobe tube in another manufacturers fixture if it physically fits?
No, the strobe tube should be matched to the model of the strobe light
Are your ½” male and female pipe mounts NPT, or another thread type (i.e. straight conduit)?
Our male and female pipe mounts are NPT
